The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, July 9, reveals that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and Diane Jenkins Abbott’s (Susan Walters) faceoff will take a shocking turn while Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) awakens and blames Patty for attacking him.
At the hospital, the guard will return and assume Patty is a regular nurse, so he’ll quiz her about Jack’s vitals.
Patty will keep her face concealed during this interaction and rush out, but Diane and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will catch a glimpse of her as they return.
Kyle will check on Jack and make sure he’s OK while the guard goes after Patty.
Once Kyle calls Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen) for backup, he’ll race after Patty and Diane as well.
The chase will feature some stairwells and long corridors before Diane finally corners Patty.
Diane will push Patty up against the wall and will be tempted to strangle her, but then Patty will pull out the syringe she planned to finish Jack off with.
Patty will jab Diane’s neck with that syringe, so Kyle will scoop his mom up in his arms as she starts falling unconscious.
Kyle will push Diane to stay with him as he carries her back to the doctors for some help.
Meanwhile, Y&R spoilers say Detective Burrow will arrive with another officer, so Patty will end up handcuffed over all the chaos that just went down.
In Jack’s room, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will give a sweet speech urging her brother to wake up.
Jack will eventually open his eyes, but he’ll be confused and concerned as he tries to make sense of things.
Traci won’t know anything about the latest round of drama that just played out between Patty and Diane, so she’ll assure Jack that Diane is safe.
However, Traci will admit Diane is in trouble since Patty blamed her for stabbing Jack and got his wife arrested.
Jack will confirm that Patty was the one who stabbed him, so Traci will suggest everything is going to work out now that he’s awake to tell the truth.
At the GCAC, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will offer Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) a full-time job at Chancellor and will get Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) approval on that.
Holden will accept the job offer and share his news with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), who’ll be uneasy over him working for Cane.
Next, Lily will be a little unsettled over the way Cane keeps anticipating her needs and finding ways to please her.
Although Lily put walls up around her heart, Cane will obviously be making progress on tearing them down – even if it’s a bit weird for Lily since he’s so different these days.
At Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) place, he’ll have another fight with Jill Abbott (Lauren Koslow) as they rehash all their usual issues.
Jill will push for a clean slate and ultimately ask Billy to come to London with her to work things out.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will have to decide whether he’ll make the trip, so stay tuned.
