A standoff on Mount Emerson has reached a critical point in Port Charles, with Anna Devane holding Britt West at gunpoint. Anna, suffering from severe PTSD after her captivity and torture at the hands of Ross Collem, is hallucinating the late Peter August. The psychological projection of Peter is pushing Anna toward committing murder, and Britt has become her target. Britt walked into the situation believing she would get answers, but instead found herself staring down the barrel of a loaded weapon.

Jason is racing against time to reach the remote parcel of land where the confrontation is unfolding. He connected the dots after Sonny Corinthos revealed the secret land deal and a tip from a doctor helped pinpoint Anna’s location. Jason’s protective instincts have kicked in, driven by the bond he formed with Britt when the two were on the run together. But the situation carries extra weight for him.
Having endured his own captivity at a WSB black site in Jakarta, Jason understands the psychological damage the organization can inflict. He is not just trying to save Britt; he is trying to prevent Anna from becoming a killer she will never forgive herself for being. The previews for the episode show Anna warning Jason that she will not let him stop her. The confrontation forces Jason to consider how to talk down a highly trained intelligence operative experiencing a psychotic break, without resorting to drawing his own weapon.
Meanwhile, a separate explosion is happening at the Quartermaine mansion. Trina Robinson overheard Brooklyn fighting with her husband Harrison Chase and confronted Brooklyn in front of the entire Labor Day party. Trina had figured out that Brooklyn is the hit-and-run driver who forced Jordan and Curtis Ashford off Route 91, leaving them injured on the side of the road. Brooklyn broke down and admitted she left the crash site, claiming she did not know an accident had even happened.
But the admission comes after months of silence, during which Willow Tait was framed for the crime. Brooklyn reportedly used Brick to doctor Willow’s GPS data to deflect suspicion. Trina and Jordan are both furious, and the revelation threatens to destroy Brooklyn’s marriage to Chase, a police officer known for his by-the-book morality. The fallout is expected to reach Gio Palmieri as well, who had been growing close to Brooklyn while bonding over music.
Tracy Quartermaine had previously warned Brooklyn that the truth would eventually blow up in her face. Elsewhere, Dr. Isaiah Gannon found a specific disease-carrying tick on Ava Jerome that requires a mandatory report to the CDC. Isaiah is pressuring Ava to retrace her steps over the past 24 hours to determine where she picked it up.
The request is a routine public health measure, but it threatens to expose something far more serious. Ava cannot explain that she was in a wooded conservation area burying the body of WSB director Jack Brennan with Drew Cain. Ava also has to manage Drew, who has been behaving erratically since his release from a locked-in state. Drew stormed into Sonny’s house demanding answers, convinced that Scout is missing.
Ava had to pull him aside and convince him that calling the sheriff would be an extreme move, given that they are actively trying to hide a body. The irony is that Scout is not missing at all. She is safe at the Quartermaine boathouse with Rocco Falconeri. The two teenagers shared their first kiss, and Scout later asked Rocco if it was okay.
He assured her it was more than okay, providing a rare grounded emotional moment amid the chaos elsewhere in town. The cover-up involving Brennan’s body faces another threat. An unknown figure described as “Outback” has reportedly returned to the burial site and resumed digging. If the body is discovered, Ava and Drew’s entire scheme could collapse.
Sonny and Alexis are also adjusting their strategy. Alexis is advising Sonny that it is time to change tactics regarding Drew, whom they view as a loose cannon threatening the stability of their family. Drew’s marriage to Willow and his increasingly erratic behavior have made him a priority concern. The combination of Anna’s breakdown on the mountain, Brooklyn’s exposure at the Quartermaine party, Ava’s medical complication, Drew’s spiral, and the mystery of the person digging at Brennan’s grave has left the town in turmoil.
The Labor Day schedule includes a tribute episode to Anthony Geary on Monday, September 7th, before the main events unfold on Tuesday’s episode.
