Charlie Woods Finally Unveils What’s in His Golf Bag — And Fans Are in Shock!

Charlie Woods has finally lifted the curtain on his golf bag, and the revelations have left fans in awe. The 17-year-old, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, has long kept his equipment choices a mystery, but during the Team Tailor Made Invitational in Bair, Florida, he decided to share his secrets with the world.

In a candid moment with the American Junior Golf Association and a Tailor Made representative, Charlie unveiled the contents of his bag, and the golf community was taken aback. Instead of mirroring his father’s legendary setup, Charlie is carving out his own identity on the course, showcasing a unique blend of tradition and innovation.

Among the standout features is his driver, a Tailor Made 4D with a standard 90° loft, paired with a graphite design ADDF 6X shaft. This choice emphasizes control over sheer distance, a surprising move for a player known for his power. Adding a personal touch, Charlie affectionately named his driver head cover “Fred” at just five years old, echoing the bond he shares with his father, who has his own driver head cover named “Frank.”

One of the most intriguing aspects of Charlie’s setup is his decision to carry 15 clubs—one more than the usual limit. This strategic choice reflects his understanding of the game and the need for versatility. He alternates between a two-iron and a seven-wood based on course conditions, demonstrating a level of tactical thinking that sets him apart from many young players.

Charlie’s two-iron is a Tailor Made P770 with a 20° loft, while the seven-wood, also a Tailor Made 4D, features a Fuja Aventus black velour plus 8X shaft. He introduced the seven-wood to his arsenal ahead of the junior invitational at Sage Valley in March, and it has quickly become a key component of his game.

When it comes to wedges, Charlie has opted for a two-wedge setup—56° and 60°—completely forgoing a gap wedge. He explained that since transitioning to the P7TW irons, which have a pitching wedge loft of 49°, he found he no longer needed a gap wedge. The 60° wedge, a Tailor Made TWW grind, is particularly special to him, serving as his trusted club in high-pressure situations.

His choice of irons further illustrates his individuality. While he plays the Tailor Made P7TW irons, co-developed with his father, he has opted for P7CB models for his four and five irons instead of sticking to the full P7TW set. This decision highlights his desire to forge his own path while still honoring his father’s influence.

Charlie also revealed that advice from fellow golfer Ricky Fowler led him to try the Tailor Made AeroBurner Mini Driver, a club that his mother humorously disapproves of being called “mini.” This driver has become a reliable option for tight fairways and is versatile enough to be played off the deck.

Perhaps the most surprising change came in his choice of golf balls. Recently, Charlie switched from the Titleist Pro V1X, a staple for his father, to the Tailor Made TP5. He explained that the TP5 fits his game better, launching slightly lower while still providing good spin. This bold decision underscores his commitment to personal growth and understanding of his own playing style.

Charlie’s meticulous attention to detail extends to his driver, where he uses a sharp pen to create a wear mark on the face, helping him visualize loft at address. This level of care and thoughtfulness speaks volumes about his dedication to the game.

As the golf world watches closely, the question on everyone’s mind is: what’s next for Charlie Woods? Will he live up to the monumental expectations that come with his last name? With a college commitment to Florida State and a growing list of accomplishments, he is already proving to be more than just a legacy. He is a player in his own right, ready to carve out his own legacy.
