Elsewhere, Dr. Isaiah Gannon is questioning Ava about her whereabouts over the last 24 hours after discovering a tick on her. The tick is a specific CDC-reportable type known to carry serious diseases.
Ava cannot explain that she was in a restricted conservation area burying the body of WSB director Jack Brennan with Drew. Isaiah needs to file a formal report to prevent a potential outbreak, and Ava is forced to play ignorant while the doctor presses for answers she cannot give. The darkest scene of the episode centers on Anna Deane, who has a loaded gun pointed directly at Britt West. Brooklyn is expected to lose Chase when he realizes she let him arrest his own grandmother while hiding her hit-and-run secret. That secret, once exposed, may be more than his sense of justice can forgive.
For Ava and Drew, the CDC report is expected to trigger an environmental sweep of the conservation area, which could lead police directly to Brennan’s grave.
