Today on Beyond the Gates, Hayley gets a shock, Kat talks Chelsea down, and Joey convinces Vanessa to try patching things up with Nicole.

Remember a few days ago when I suggested that Randy might be setting Lynette up for a fall? Well, things look bad for the troublemaker as Vanessa reports to Joey that her would-be client has gone AWOL. As Joey assures her she’s great at her job, Randy gets a message and rushes out. Joey suggests he and Vanessa go on vacation, but she reminds him the last time they went away together is when her husband died. He convinces her to go to the Napa Valley… but not until she makes up with Nicole. Unfortunately, when Nicole and Vanessa get together, things rapidly go down hill. With Nicole still refusing to accept her gal pal’s relationship, Vanessa asks the big question: Is their friendship even salvageable at this point?
Naomi talks to Dani about the slip-of-the-tongue which left Bill calling her “baby.” Dani insists that was muscle-memory not infidelity. Andre pretends to be upset, but he and Dani tell her daughter that they don’t play games with one another and trust one another. Naomi gets a message from Jacob, asking that she meet him at the motel. But thanks to Lia’s suspicions, he winds up being interrogated by Ren, who punches Jacob and, when he collapses, kicks him several times to boot!
The good news keeps coming for Kat and Chelsea, who find out that they’ve been accepted into the Tokyo Fashion Collective. Kat wants to celebrate, but Chelsea worries that Madison’s lawsuit could derail everything. Kat points out that Chelsea has survived numerous scandals and has a huge platform from which to control the narrative.
Nicole runs into Martin and asks a few questions which indicate she’s still suspicious about Smitty having been in her office. Martin says that his husband has spent years sacrificing, so now it’s his turn to shine. Bill later approaches Martin, suggesting that his “checkered past” might make a potential senate run a bad idea. They both have things they don’t want dug up, Bill reminds. Things are on the verge of getting heated between them when Andre arrives to warn Bill that he and only he gets to call Dani “baby!”
Over breakfast, Bill and Hayley discuss the Lynette situation. She pretends to be upset at how easily she was played. Bill offers to track Lynette down and deal with her, but Hayley says no need even as she’s rushing out the door to meet Randy at Uptown following a text from him. When she arrives, he says basically to forget she ever knew Lynette. He then takes out the missing woman’s phone and sends Vanessa a text saying she’s left town. Realizing that Lynette won’t be a problem anymore, Hayley pours one out — using champagne, of course — to Lynette!
