So let’s see if we get this straight. Days of Our Lives’ EJ told Johnny exactly what happened and what’s wrong with Holly. He asked Johnny to shut down any investigation into the DiMera Pharmaceuticals Coriseal, because they can’t have it coming out that it was tainted by arsenic and improperly disposed of. And he made it clear that Holly may not have long to live (days, at most), but he’ll handle it so long as Johnny keeps his mouth shut.
And Johnny responded with fury and disgust and… is keeping his mouth shut?? After learning all of this on Monday’s episode, Tuesday’s consisted of Tate, Brady, Sarah and even Julie all running around trying to get to the bottom of what’s wrong with Holly.
They zeroed in on the water being the issue, but will they be able to find the arsenic? Would they think to test for it? Would it come back in time? Would EJ… stop them?
If he doesn’t want them to find out what happened, testing the water and discovering traces of Coriseal and arsenic in it is bound to throw a wrench in that. And since he’s about to get bad news from George O’Halloran, we’re guessing the improperly disposed of drugs contaminated the Horton cabin water supply and he was the creeper watching Brady get the proof.
If EJ lets anyone figure that out, he’s in a lot of trouble. So he’s got a vested interest in figuring out some “secret” way, perhaps, of helping Holly, while keeping Sarah from learning the truth. But that’s EJ. We thought Johnny would be better.
But so far, nothing. No telling Sarah what to look for. No anonymous tip, even! We know it hasn’t been that long since he found out, but it’s been long enough for Holly to have a string of visitors and for Brady to run out to Smith Island, get some water and run back to the hospital. Johnny’s had time to set this right, but so far, nada.
And worse, we don’t even see him in spoilers until EJ needs him again on Friday! So what’s the deal? Is Johnny just too distracted? Is he letting his dad pull him down to his level? Does he trust EJ to make sure Holly’s helped? Or is the job already starting to corrupt him, since he knows that the truth coming out will be damning for DiMera Enterprises?
It’s still early, and time in Salem can be funny. So we still have hope for him to do the right thing. But right now, it’s not looking good — especially with Holly’s life on the line!
