Dogs continued evolving alongside humans as human lifestyles and needs shifted. The actual geographic origin of domestication remains unclear. Current genetic evidence suggests domestication likely occurred, or was significantly reinforced through interbreeding, across multiple regions throughout Eurasia. Researchers point toward Europe, Central Asia, and East Asia, each presenting compelling evidence.
