Gabi Makes an Offer Even Philip Can’t Refuse, and Chad and Belle Have a Shocking Theory About the Missing Pawn

Gabi Makes an Offer Even Philip Can’t Refuse, and Chad and Belle Have a Shocking Theory About the Missing Pawn

Leo gives Gabi a scare as she opens the door to find him with a box of Sweet Bits. And knowing he’s just there to spy on Javi and Gus, she tells him they’re madly, disgustingly in love, leaves and slams the door shut behind her!

Rafe Freaks Out Again

At the same time, Cat calls Rafe needing to talk, so he tells her to come on over once Gabi leaves. (While he’s in the same room as she yells at Leo but hears… nothing?) First, Cat sulks over Chad and Belle’s kiss some more. That done, she heads over to tell her about EJ refusing the drug out of nowhere. Her guess? There’s a problem with it.

And that means Lexie could be in trouble. And so could anyone else EJ sells it too, if he still goes ahead knowing the drug’s unsafe. Cat can’t let that happen and she’s going to get close to EJ to stop this! Rafe does his usual, “You can’t do that,” Cat tells him he’s not the boss of her, and he threatens to go to her boss. (Do we get to see Andrew soon?)

Will Gabi Give Titan Her Money?

Johnny shows up at Xander’s office, clearly not at all interested in anything, including the apology for Xander’s “deeply shameful” trap. Johnny pretty much shrugs. “Thank you for doing the right thing, finally.” He’s got bigger things to worry about and walks out.

Philip wanders into work and Xander tells him what happened, mentions how well Johnny handled it, and not so subtly suggests that Philip should try a little forgiveness too. With Gabi. And it’s not just because of the financial gain! Philip’s miserable, and he needs to move past it.

As they argue over whether to take the money, Gabi shows up. Xander backed her into a corner, but she’s there to claim what she needs in return for the payout.

Johnny Shocks EJ

EJ’s surprised to see Chad waltzing through the living room and it doesn’t take long for them to get into a delightfully petty tit-for-tat over kissing each other’s exes. They keep it up until Chad throws up his hands and walks out.

Johnny shows up next and the second EJ learns that Xander and Kate admitted to setting him up, he starts plotting revenge. Or tries to. Johnny’s tells him to knock it off, then demands to know why EJ didn’t share his miracle drug with Paulina. EJ acts all concerned, saying he’s not keen on using his daughter-in-law as a lab rat while pregnant.

Johnny buys it, instead asking whether, if something goes wrong after and they need a miracle, EJ will help? Of course! So long as it seems safe and helpful! But before they can unpack that can of worms, Theo arrives and EJ freaks out a bit (OK, a lot. His face is priceless) when Johnny makes his nephew co-CEO.

Have Chad and Belle Figured Out the Chess Set?

Marlena teases Belle about her kiss with Chad, which is the perfect chance for Belle to bring up her new beau offering to look into the chess set. “Whatever you think you want to do,” Marlena shrugs. Just be careful. And don’t tell her whatever they find.

Chad drops in to get started and suggests they begin by playing a chess game with the board. The missing pawn has to be a message to her dad, not about him. What if there’s another pawn out there they don’t know about! (Now seems like a good time for a refresher course on all things Pawn!) Belle breaks out the set and Chad sets about looking for secret compartments until she has to go to work. (Wait. What happened to playing a game on it?)

Marlena Comforts Leo

Leo shows up for a regularly scheduled appointment for once and dives headfirst into Gwen and how scared he is for her. But when he explains everything, Marlena points out the obvious: If Gwen gave him information for when something happens to her, he could be in danger, too!

Leo bemoans that no one would care if he died, but Marlena insists she and Javi would. (Is bringing up an ex who’s moving on really a good therapy method, Marlena?) Leo’s touched (aside from the Javi stuff), and asks Marlena to let the world know EJ’s behind it all if anything does happen to him.

In the Show’s Final Moments

EJ and Theo sit down for a game of chess as they talk over Gabi’s inheritance claim. It’s real, they both know it and fighting it isn’t the right thing to do. EJ growls and yells a bit, but Theo stands his ground, then puts EJ in check.

Gabi’s not just giving the money over. She’s buying into the company and taking a seat on the board. “I’ll have an agreement drawn up and we can all sign it.” Xander agrees to it, and Philip allows it, since it doesn’t feel like a handout.
